Winning the Nikon F3!

A few weeks ago I wrote a post called My shot at winning a Nikon F3 in response to a contest Rob Boyer was running over at his website.

Well, I was selected the winner. How cool is that!

I'm really excited about this. I've been trying to get my hands on a good 35mm film SLR for a while now, so this is a great opportunity. I've bought 4 or 5 bodies off ebay in the past and they've all turned out to be duds. One, an FM2 actually worked relatively well for one single roll of film. I say relatively because the meter was off by about a stop and a half. However, when I put the second roll in it stopped firing. The shutter got jammed and it just wouldn't work. I took it to service but was told it'd be over $300 to fix it. I only paid $25 for the camera so it seemed like a bad deal.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to shooting with the F3. I'll be sure to post here regularly.

And thanks again to Rob for this.
