New look for the website... again

Over the last few months I've been changing the design of my photography website and I think I'm finally happy with the results. It went from being a very simple blog with black text on a white background (which stayed the same for years), to light grey text on a dark grey background a few months ago only to go back to a lighter background.

Somewhere along I also decided I wanted to publish larger photographs than I had before, so I was messing with the layout a lot.

Well, I think this is it. Here's a screenshot for those getting this through the RSS feed. Click through and have a look.

The new subtitle says "Photography & Motion" as I plan to start sharing the video work I've been doing. I expect to publish the first video in a few weeks depending on how much time I have.

Changing my website and blog

I haven't posted much in a while because I'm moving my site from 2 self hosted Wordpress instalations (one for my website, one for my blog) to a single site using Squarespace. So far it's been pretty cool and the support is for the most part amazing. A lot has happened in the last few weeks but I've not posted about it because I'm moving away from my old blog and have already pulled all the content into this one. I still need to update the rss feed, so current subscribers won't see this either. It should all be finished this week.

Brand U.0

I found this presentation by David Armano on building your personal brand on the web. It's pretty self-explanatory and to the point, highlighting the difference between a company, a product, and a brand. I especially like the quote "A brand is a person's gut feeling about a product, service, or organization" by Mary Neumeier, so true. There's a slide in there about the importance of managing yourself in the socialsphere to create your personal brand. Interesting.
